Job Description
The person will be creating the best of Indian Dishes to the highest standards using various ingredients. As a Specialist Chef he will be required to assist the Head Chef in the smooth running of the kitchen and his duties will include menu planning, food preparation from the raw materials, making various Indian/Asian curries, ordering and service of all dishes.
The person will be managing the kitchen and ensuring that every dish is of the highest quality. He will be responsible for managing & developing the kitchen team and controlling the costs in the department. He will also be responsible for all the admin work as well as maintaining the hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen. He must also be passionate about food with previous experience of working within a similarly high quality environment. It is also important that he is an excellent team player with bags of personality. The job tasks include:
Cooking various Indian/Asian dishes using raw materials as per as customers specification.
Monitor worker performance.
Maintain production or work records.
Modify work procedures or processes to meet deadlines.
Direct and coordinate activities of workers or staff .
Estimate materials or labour requirements.
Oversee work progress to verify safety or conformance to standards.
Requisition stock, materials, supplies or equipment.
Analyse recipes to assign prices to menu items, based on food, labour, and overhead
costs.
Check the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met.
Prepare and cook foods either on a regular basis or for special guests or functions.
Instruct cooks and other workers in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, and
presentation of food.
To qualify for selection the candidate should have the following minimum requirements: -
Eligibility to live and work in UK
Skills and knowledge in traditional and contemporary Indian regional styles
Minimum 3/5 years previous experience at relevant field
