Before I ramble on, please do grab a cup of tea or coffee before you read any further.....

I'm Gabriel, a UK based online teacher.

I have over 6 years online and classroom based teaching experience.

Experience in brief:

2022 - present: freelancer teaching criminology online to pupils aged 14 - 18 based in the U.K (secondary school)

2022 - present: Education Partners NTP Online Tutor (standby)

2022 - present: Teaching Personnel NTP Online Tutor (standby)

2017 - 2021: Landi English teaching pupils aged 5 - 16 based in China

2015 - 2016: cover teacher in schools & academies across parts of the north east of England i.e. Middlesbrough, Stockton, Ormesby, Redcar, Leyburn areas.

2014 & 2015: Academia, Toledo, Spain teaching Cambridge English B1 & B2 (TEFL).

Before moving into education in 2014, I worked for the fire service for over 15 years.

I teach pupils remotely online, who are studying secondary school criminology (UK curriculum) which involves structured lessons, research & homework.

To start, our lessons cover: analyse different types of crime & criminological theories.

Once these two units have been studied, we then move onto crime scene to courtroom and crime & punishment.

Pupils currently attending online criminology classes are aged between 14 - 18 years old.

Each lesson is 30 minutes via Zoom at the cost of £7.50 GBP / Euro 9.50 / $10.00 USD per pupil,

Maximum 2 pupils per lesson.

Each lesson focuses on one topic at a time and keeps pupils engaged for 30 minutes.

My teaching style is visual i.e. pdf presentations, short reading, note taking, discussions, ideas, crime comparisons (depending on where you are in the world), and opinions on what you think should be legal / illegal.

Secondary school criminology can be taught as a main subject to pupils interested in this subject.

Criminology is exciting, engaging and pupils will be kept busy with class work and research.

This subject could be taught to pupils being home schooled, or pupils not attending school for personal reasons.

This subject will encourage pupils to learn something interesting, if they are disinterested or not focusing on the standard school curriculum.

Individuals wanting to learn English through criminology (TEFL level B2) is fun, engaging and involves listening, reading, writing, encourages opinion and discussions to improve their English.

Lessons are planned and structured. Homework is also provided and marked to check understanding.

I'm registered for online tutoring (NTP) in the U.K with Teaching Personnel & Equal Education Partners (standby online tutor).

Online tutoring with Teaching Personnel & Equal Education Partners requires all teachers to be registered on the DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) update system & Education Workforce Council (EWC).

I hold a safeguarding children & Prevent certification (see photos).

To be as transparent as possible, these photos along with copies of my DBS certificates / DBS registration have been posted on my Facebook page Let's Talk About Criminology.

To prevent any misuse of these documents i.e. downloading / copying for fraudulent use, I've blocked out my name, address & reference numbers.

Unfortunately we live in a world where documents can be downloaded, copied, duplicated and used for fraudulent purposes.

Safeguarding children is a mandatory course (yearly) for U.K educators teaching online & offline.
