RADFIELD HOME CARE - Wakefield & Dewsbury

JOB TITLE : Registered Care Manager

REPORTING TO: Company Directors

SALARY: £27,000 - £30,000 per annum dependent on experience and qualifications

HOURS: 37.5 per week + on call duties

REQUIREMENTS: Enhanced DBS disclosure / DBS adult first clearance

LOCATION: Based at our Registered Office in Ossett, covering the Wakefield and Dewsbury Districts.

The Care Manager is a vital part of ensuring the success and reputation of a branch and we take great care to appoint the right person. This role would suit a person who has had prior experience of working in domiciliary care in either an Assistant Manager or Care Managers role previously.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
--Supporting with business development, including marketing in the local community
--Recruiting and growing the care team with the support of the company directors
--Managing the day to day running of the business, including meeting new clients, managing carers and investigating complaints
--Liaising with the Care Quality Commission inspectors and ensuring all audit requirements are met
--Delivering the highest quality of care to clients, ensuring their emotional, spiritual, physical, medical and material needs are met
--Training, supervising and performance managing a team of carers
--Ensuring all health and safety requirements are met
--Preparing client invoices and staff wages

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Criteria:
The following qualities are considered essential for the post of Care Manager:
--Appropriate experience in a senior care or management capacity within the previous five years
--A suitable management qualification or senior care qualification
--Willing to complete the Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or already hold this qualification)
--Register with the Care Quality Commission as the Registered Manager of the branch
--Experience in line management of staff
--Proven ability to take responsibility and strong leadership skills
--A good understanding of risk management and health and safety management
--Self motivated, organised, flexible and caring
--Excellent time management
--Sensitive to the needs of others and to the sick or infirm
--An active team player but also able to work on own initiative
--An excellent communicator
--Excellent spoken and written English language skills
--Excellent administration and good IT skills
--Committed to high standards in all areas of the role
--Committed to training for all staff and ongoing personal development.
--Must be able to drive and have access to a vehicle at all times
--Be available out of office hours for 'on call' purposes

Desirable Criteria:
--Leadership & Management Qualification in Care or Registered Manager's Award
--Experience working as a Domiciliary Care Manager
